About Us

The George V. Murray Foundation was established to honor George and Leona Murray (deceased). George Murray was born in Northern Ireland. He moved to the United States at the age of fifteen to attend school in New York. After marrying Leona, they raised thirteen children in the Detroit area. All children were educated with a moral religious background in the Catholic faith. Leona Murray died on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12, 1997. Two of the thirteen children donated their inheritance to a scholarship fund.

Mission

The future of our nation is dependent on our youth, and their ability to become successful adults. The mission of the George V. Murray Foundation is to help the youth of our community through quality education.

Additionally, memorial funds have been established to support specific 501(c)(3) organizations aligned with the deceased.
